The Ballagh Health Centre – general practice

Dr. Ralph cares about the patient and healthcare. He is up-to-date and open-minded to new procedures and modern medicine. He listens to the patient, explains options, and if the patient can do something to have better health he also shares this information. I travel a long distance to see him and while he is the Ballagh in Wexford, I have found people in Dublin, Kilkenny and as far as Limerick that seak him. It would be fantastic for Ireland to have more medical practitioners like him.

Used to be a good run practice but the last year the Receptionist very rarely answers the phone, they don’t call you to let you know if something came up and the appointment had to be changed leaving you to travel to them for no reason and loosing out on a days work. Multiple problems with prescription. The doctor himself I find has no interest in his work anymore. Does not speak in a professional manner in the case of mental health his response was “what do you want me to do”. During my last pregnancy I’d been seen more times in a&e as they wouldn’t answer the phone and my issue was left too long that I’d have be put on iv lines ect. And lastly as I say can not get through for appointments as they don’t answer the phone but yet can ring you back out of hours to give out about you complaining about their service

Saw me throughout the past 2 years (Lockdowns etc)when my own doctor wouldn’t. The extra long journey I have to make to see him is worth it.
